How do we choose our favourite memory from 2015? There are so many that will go down in Commencal history!
Back in January we launched our USA HQ in Carlsbad, California and who better to help us than the most American person we’ve ever met, Kyle Strait. What a great moment!
At the start of the DH season in Lourdes, France we launched our new downhill bike the Supreme DH V4, which went down a storm with the press and public alike. TheCommencal/Vallnord DH Racing Team quickly proved it worked for them and good results continued throughout the season which saw Remi Thirion in 5th place overall until a crash and subsequently a nasty injury in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada. Whilst the DH team were going downhill fast, Cecile Ravanel of theCommencal/VALLNORD Enduro Team was going uphill and downhill fast on her META AM V4, eventually claiming 2nd overall in the World Enduro Series, a momentous achievement!
With all of our family of riders out delivering the goods whether it be in the form of results, video parts or photos, back in Andorra we were expanding our offices. Thankfully this also involved the addition of an on-site pump track built by Pierre-Edouard Ferry and his team. At the same time, they were also creating a new bike park track in collaboration with our partner Vallnord. TheCommencal Track was born and has since been enjoyed by riders of all abilities, from beginners to World Cup downhill legends!
Last but hardly the least, the UCI World Championships descended on Vallnord, a fine way to end the season. We launched our new office and of course, theCommencal Spot hosted the wildest of parties to end the season with a bang! Together with the resort of Vallnord, we look forward to welcoming the last UCI World Cup stage of the season for at least the next 3 years!
How can we top all of that in 2016? Watch this space, we’ll be giving it a damn good go! There’s going to be All This & More – Cheers to 2016!
